The pursuit of
productivity
It all began back in the early 1960s. The troublesome
and lengthy tooling-up times of machine tools were getting on the nerves of a
young engineer. Idle machines! Poor utilisation of available machine
capacity! And at the end of it all, dismal productivity.
That young entrepreneur, Börje
Ramsbro, began to develop a tool system to increase productivity.
It took a few years’ experimentation before he found the right formula –
three fixed references. The technology was developed and standardised in a
system – System 3R.

Today, System 3R is a world-wide group of companies with
research, development, production and sales of methods, handling equipment,
software and tool systems for the manufacturing industry. Products that give
the user significant advantages in the pursuit of increased productivity.
System 3R has production units and/or its own sales
companies in eleven countries, regional sales offices in six more, and
distributors in other industrialised nations.
Much of System 3R’s success can be attributed to the fact that 3R’s customers
are rewarded with shorter lead times and increased productivity. System 3R
ensures accuracy, speed and flexibility throughout the production process.
